CONCERNING HOLY COMMUNION: According to Christ’s Word in Holy Scripture, and in confession of the true Christian faith, we observe the ancient evangelical practice of closed communion. We believe that those who commune together must confess the same holy faith, just as the Scriptures teach. Since one’s church affiliation indicates one’s confession of faith, only those aught to commune who are communicant members of, or whose church is in confessional fellowship with, the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. If you have any questions, or have never communed at St. James before, please contact Pastor. If you would like to receive a blessing, please cross your arms over your chest.
THOSE WE ARE KEEPING IN OUR PRAYERS: (Please contact Pastor or Linda Hall by Friday of each week to add petitions or update current information.)
For all the sick, suffering, enduring, and recovering: Lisa Crosby, Gini Davis, Frank Dent, Carlita Gossell, Gary Gossell, Rodney Hall, Linda Hankee, Mike Howard, Janet Keefe, Cindi Kent, Anita Mattos, Terry Mattos, Riley Maxson, James Reinhardt, Sheila Ryan, Marlene Schroeder, Judy Stoller, Dorothy Welther, Theresa Willner.
SUNDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDIES: All members and guests are encouraged and invited to join one of our Bible Studies that we have here at St. James following worship. Adults meet in the Parish Hall following coffee time. Elementary children are in the Childcare Wing. Junior and Senior High students are invited to join us in the Library (Pastor’s old office) for an Apologetics Study. Catechesis will take place following Sunday school.
We will begin a new study for the Adult Bible Study. We will be examining the book Lutheranism 101. Simply put, if you are new to Lutheranism or would like a refresher course, this is the time to join. We will be providing books available for each family starting today.
VBS: Thank you to everyone who volunteered, supported and donated to VBS this year. It was a big success! Our offering taken will support Bravely, which offers help to mothers and children in need. If you would like to donate, we are collecting diapers, wipes and monetary donations for the next two weeks.
DEACONS/COUNCIL MEETING: will take place Tuesday, July 14 at 6/7pm respectively. The Voters Meeting will take place after church on Sunday, July 19.
MIDWEEK BIBLE STUDY: will take place each Wednesday at 6:30pm. We will begin with Responsive Prayer in the sanctuary and continue with our study in the library. All are welcome and encouraged to come!
