WELCOME to all who have come to St. James to worship our Lord. Whether you are a member or a guest, we are glad that you have joined us here to hear the Word of God and to receive His gifts.

CONCERNING HOLY COMMUNION: According to Christ’s Word in Holy Scripture, and in confession of the true Christian faith, we observe the ancient evangelical practice of closed communion. We believe that those who commune together must confess the same holy faith, just as the Scriptures teach. Since one’s church affiliation indicates one’s confession of faith, only those aught to commune who are communicant members of, or whose church is in confessional fellowship with, the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. If you have any questions, or have never communed at St. James before, please contact Pastor. If you would like to receive a blessing, please cross your arms over your chest.

THOSE WE ARE KEEPING IN OUR PRAYERS: (Please contact Pastor or Linda Hall by Friday of each week to add petitions or update current information.)

For all the sick, suffering, enduring, and recovering: Frank Dent, Ralph Jennings, Andi Kent (Roomate has cancer), Riley Maxson, Sheila Ryan.

Please submit names via the pew cards for all you wish to include on the prayer list and what we are praying for. Those cards may be placed in the offering plates.

Services can be live-streamed via our Facebook page: (St. James Lutheran Church-Reynolds, IN). St. James' WEBSITE can be accessed at www.st-james-lutheran.org.  Worship services are normally recorded and an edited audio version posted.

BIBLE STUDIES: Please join us for our Bible studies that we offer throughout the month. Adult Bible Study and Children’s Sunday School take place after church down in the Parish Hall. LWML Bible Study will begin at 1:30 PM on the first and last Tuesdays of each month. Midweek Bible Study takes place every Wednesday at 6:30 PM starting in the Sanctuary and then in the Library. All are welcome to join us as we study God’s Word!

GERMAN DINNER & BAZAAR NEWS: Thank you to everyone who helped prepare, set up and serve at the German Dinner. It was a big success! If anyone is interested, there was Pork and Sauerkraut left. It is in the refrigerator in the kitchen and is $20 for a quart container with 4 chops and kraut. You can just leave the money in the refrigerator. There are also green beans. If you would like some please just take them.

ST JAMES REFORMATION FESTIVAL will take place the last Sunday of October after church. We will have our soup and dessert contest, games and plenty of fellowship!

PACK AWAY HUNGER: It’s that time of year again where we join the fight against food insecurity in our community and in the world through Pack Away Hunger! The event is November 8th at Monticello United Methodist Church and how many meals to be packed that day fully depends on how much money can be raised. Like many things, the cost of meals this year has increased, reaching a price point of about $0.40 per meal, with the minimum amount of meals we can pack at 30,000. That means $12,000 has to be raised to host the event. Please consider sponsoring meals to help those who may not know where their next meal is coming from.

CHILDCARE BOARD MEETING: Tonight at 6:00 in the board room.

COMMUNITY EVENT: A hotpad sew-in - all materials provided. It is for anyone, experienced or beginner. November 12 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the Reynolds School, Room 3. Beginners and experienced sewers are welcome. If you wish, you can bring two nine inch squares of material you want to use. Cost is $5 payable when you arrive. Please call 812-341-4849 or 219-863-4055 and leave a message with your name and who will be attending. Deadline for sign-up is November 5th.
